It’s Victory Day here on 9th May. It’s one of the biggest Russian holidays and commemorates the Soviet Union’s victory in WW2 (or as Russians call it: the Great Patriotic War). One of the symbols of Victory Day is the ribbon of St George (an orange and black ribbon). They’re given out free at metro stations in St Petersburg. People wear them or tie them to various parts of their cars.
